Delhi has a vibrant hospitality industry with almost all major world-class hotels and restaurants located here. However, the current capacity will be insufficient to handle the huge influx of visitors expected into Delhi for the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi. An additional 25,000 rooms are being built to meet the requirements of the Games; this will be supplemented by the Bed and Breakfast Scheme launched by the Delhi government. In addition, the State-owned India Tourism Development Corp. Ltd (ITDC) and private hotels have embarked on make-over and upgradation plans to welcome visitors to Delhi and make their stay an enjoyable experience.
